Planning around the watershed is underway as we’re looking to better understand beavers activities in the Crooked River watershed, how their activities can be compatible with landowner goals, and how agencies can support landowner operations and interests around beavers.
Get streamside this Spring 2025 with small survey crews this spring documenting beaver habitat restoration potential and beaver activity signs.
Activities include:
- Walking uneven ground 2-3 miles / day
- Logging observations and photos into a handheld device
- Measuring stream sections, capturing GPS points
- Coordinating with other survey crew members
- Use of measuring tapes, GIS maps
- Uploading data to partner organizations
Survey dates can be flexible, but in coordination with other crew members.
You should be able to commit to a minimum of 6 survey dates over the season (April-June).
We will provide training, guidance and support throughout the survey season.
